What does this piece seek?

 

·         Show that Islam is a superimposition on the people – it does not come out of their hearts

 

·         Stress ethnic identities at the expense of their Muslimness so that Pakistan is split into different nationalities

 

·         Create nationalities – a favorite theme of the secularists – and then talk of the impossibility of Pakistan being one nation

 

·         The News insinuates Punjab nationalism as a reality but then realizing the absurdity of it makes it “subtle”. Here the method is to provoke the Punjabis b abusing them so that when they react, Pakistan becomes meaningless. This is the same old game of abusing West Pakistan as exploiter. The Punjab now substitutes West Pakistan. Besides, there is another aspect to it. Take Islam away from the people, reduce them into regional and ethnic groups, and then pitch one against the other.

 

·         The Pakistani state is cosmetic – a theme propagated by Indians. Here again one can see secularists standing in league with India.

 

Nadeem Farooq Paracha – a psychotic bigot who haunts the secular press (with no thanks to the eternal despot Imran Aslam of the News International) continues to ensure that Pakistan gets the beating by deeming it as a “cosmetic state.”
